The Formartine Oral History Project is an initiative of the Formartine Partnership
and was started in 2004 with a £35K grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
It’s your Project and we're looking after your stories.

From 21st April 2008 the interviews will also be available in the following
both of these institutions require an appointment to access the archive - contact details are on the links sidebar
and later
so you, and anyone else, can listen to those stories which may be lost to future
generations if they are not recorded now.
These are just some of the subjects on which we gathered reminiscences.
We had groups participating from the following areas:
The two training sessions have now taken place at Fyvie and Oldmeldrum. Click on the names for a report on both events. (You can also find links on the Woodhead & Meldrum Pages)
If you think you need a little extra help using the recording equipment, do let me know!
The editing, transcribing and techie end-product will be looked after by myself, so all you need is a good memory and a willingness to try something new!
You can find these on the news & events page on this site, as well as my roving diary
This is where extracts from interviews are now appearing
I envisage that eventually every group will have its own page on the Formartine Wiki.
